Youth-Led Local Action Blueprints for the Future
Last year, a conversation between alumni - one serving as Mayor, the other having spent over a decade building youth-led civic design frameworks - surfaced a shared realization:
Cities are ready.
Young people are ready.
But the structure to translate youth insight into implementation has been missing.
Golden became one of the first cities willing to test that structure.
At the same time:
Providence is activating through Brown University.
Boulder is mobilizing its philanthropic and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Nairobi began coordinating its hub last year.
Golden stands at the forefront of the Systems Change L.A.B. four-city pilot.
Join civic, business, university, philanthropic, and youth leaders to activate this next chapter:
A Civic Innovation Engine for a Resilient and Thriving Golden.
What to Expect
• A founding story of how the Systems Change L.A.B. emerged - and why Golden is leading
• A focused civic briefing on the spring/summer pilot
• Youth perspectives on local action and leadership
• Clear funding pathways to activate Golden’s pilot
• Formation of Golden’s Founding Systems Change Council
• Structured time for meaningful connection and commitments
Municipal leaders cannot solve complex, interlocking challenges alone.
Markets do not create long-term resilience by accident.
Universities cannot fulfill their civic mission without real-world integration.
And youth leadership must be structural - not symbolic.
The Systems Change L.A.B. brings these forces into alignment and translates youth genius into implementation-ready action.
Golden begins now.
